STORY

WJSV is a student-run FM radio station in Morristown, New Jersey.  The station purchased by the Morris School District in 1971. This year we are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of WJSV radio and the students who have been broadcasting!!

 

WJSV FM is run by students of Morristown High School on the air and behind the scenes. The station is owned by the Morris School District.  WJSV's Main Transmitter is located at the Mountain Way School in Morris Plains, New Jersey.

The station is completely run by members and an executive staff composed entirely of students.  The executive staff is made up of positions found at any commercial radio station, including Program Director, Music Director, News Director, and Station Manager. The station is supervised by Morristown High School Broadcasting Teacher, Lance Armstrong.

Any MHS student can learn how to broadcast their  favorite music or talk show over radio as  a DJ or work behind the scenes as a radio engineer.  We recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the station that has been on the air in Morristown since 1971. WJSV broadcasts five days a week during the school year and we want you to be part of the continuing history of WJSV!
